A Lot Happening

This has been quite a week. First and foremost is the birth of Gavin Youngberg. On May 6th, Rebecca had a baby boy-6pounds,2 ounces. Small but mighty. It is hard for the 3rd time to be away when a grandchild is born. We do get to video chat today.

On Monday, we had our senior dinner. We were in charge along with 2 other couples. We bought steaks and chicken and split the cost. Everyone loved it. Then we had a patriotic program (which Rob put together for us). Everyone absolutely loved it. We gave small gifts to the people who had been in the service. It went over very well.

We finished preparing the beds for planting, then on Wednesday we had a huge service project with 128 youth, and 37 adults who helped us plant 15,000 plants, and wax monuments, paint picnic tables, and put out mulch. It went very well. Most of the kids worked very hard. We got a lot done in the few hours they were there.

On Friday the McLanes pulled out of here. They were very ready to go home (well as home as you can get when you are pitching a tent). They are taking 2 weeks and visiting kids. Most of their children live around this area. When they get to Minnesota, they are on their own. It was hard to see them go. We had a great time with them.

It has been quite cold the last few days, and is supposed to stay that way this week. We put the flowers for Kanesville in the shop to keep them from freezing. We hope the other flowers we planted will be alright. I guess time will tell.

We were sorry to hear of Brians mother passing on. That is so hard. Another case of not being able to help. You know she is happy where she is, but you really miss them. I know I would think I needed to call my mother and tell her something, then realize she wasn't there to tell.

Hope you all have a great week, and it warms up for everyone.

We were glad to hear that the patriotic dvd program turned out well after they were able to work through the glitches with the projector.

We miss you guys and can't wait for you to meet Gavin in person--he can't stop talking about you! :)
