Cold and Snowy

We now have encountered snow in Nebraska. It snowed for 2 straight days, and got below zero.
It also blew the snow into nice high drifts. Of course I understand Utah also had snow and cold. So we felt right at home.

We do have nice large snowblowers. We also have nice shovels, and a tractor to push snow around.
My husband bought me a great coat that keeps me really warm. Plus snow pants and boots. I feel like Ralphys brother in Christmas Story. I have so much on my arms stick straight out.

On Thursday the Oaks invited us to a military band concert. I was really excited because we I love brass instruments. It was really good, but they had a bit to much jazz. I like a little, but half their concert was jazz. When half the song has nothing to do with the melody, I lose interest. It was fun though.

We had our Facilities Management party on Thursday. This means they served us lunch. At least we didn't have to work. This week our party was supposed to be Wednesday the same day as our zone conference. Both got cancelled because of the snow. This is a city that shuts d own if it snows or if it is cold. School was closed on Wednesday and Thursday, plus started 2 hours late on Friday. Kids love it.

We are getting ready to leave on Thursday for the wedding. Our flight is now 3 hrs earlier than it was scheduled for. It is funny to me that if I had called to leave earlier I would have had a large
fine. But because they did it, there is no compensation.

Anyway, we are excited to see everyone. We just need to get ready. We got Bruces suit cleaned. At the senior dinner, he was packing out the meat and spilled the juice on his suit. We figured no one wanted to smell that all day.

We are supposed to get freezing rain. Then I will expect the city to shut down. I know I will stay home. These guys are awful drivers. They go through red lights like you can't believe. If we push it(enter the intersection when the light is yellow) we have up to 4 cars behind us. They rush to the light when its red, then sit there for half of the light when it turns green. It if quite humorous.

We had a great thing happen on the 10th. Our 23rd grandchild born. Ryans little girl was 9 pounds,5 ounces. They named her Aspen Divinia. We got to see her on web cam. Of course she is beautiful. We just feel bad we can't see her in person till we come home. She won't care though.

I will see everyone soon. Love you Sister Sylvia
p.s. In the temple picture, the headstones are people they moved from the site of the temple when it was being built.

That is such a beautiful picture of the temple; it looks like something you could buy at Deseret Book!

I know you won't get this before you leave for Utah, but we're so excited to have you come and we'll see you soon.
