Bugle calls

Hello Everyone:
We are experiencing fall here. There are more trees than I have ever seen in one place. All kinds of trees-pines, oaks, locust, maple, every kind imaginable. The problem is we are going to have to get rid of the leaves as they fall. As soon as you blow them into a pile ( if it isn't windy) the area has hundreds more. This continues for a long time from what I have heard. Oh well. Good exercise.
Yesterday we went on a short road trip. This is the last week the temple is closed for maintenance. We went to the Space and Air Museum. It had some very large planes. It had one like the one that dropped the bomb on Hiroschima (Sorry about the spelling). Then we went over to the Wildlife Safari. It's only a few blocks from the Air museum. It was a blast. They had a lot of large elk. They were bugling a lot. We even tried to get Ryan on the phone. We did get Karen, and she could hear them. They had buffalo, bear, antelope, and deer. It was fun. You drive through.
Anyway, next week it's back to the temple.
This week we spent Thursday in the temple cleaning. Bruce had the opportunity of cleaning the Oxen. He really enjoyed doing this. How many people can say they have done this? We cleaned lockers, and I cleaned around the stained glass. It is very peaceful even during close down.
President and Sister Oaks had a luncheon for the Facilities Management people to show appreciation. They are really nice people.
Bruce went on splits with the missionaries that evening. He enjoyed that. We took them to a Chinese buffet Friday evening. They had a good time there. It seems they get fed fairly well. They are really nice kids.
If anyone knows of a fun group game, let me know. WE are in charge of the Senior dinner in 2 weeks. We thought a game night would be fun. We are having a hard time coming up with a group game. Large group parties seem to be a thing of the past. The 2 of these we have been to have been more serious. They were really good, but they said they have enjoyed games in the past. The people on the committe with us are a couple that have been here 1 week, and a couple that are on vacation for the next 10 days.
Well I better get ready for church. I thought about playing sick, but decided it was against mission rules.
I miss everyone. Love
Sylvia

I thought they outlawed Dad from cutting down tree branches? :)

I'll think of some good group games and let you know. I'm sure Becca can think of a few she's played at YW recently ...

Why hello you two! I'm so glad you started a blog. This has been such a nice way to stay in touch with so many, including Denise and Paul.

It sounds like your mission has been a wonderful experience thus far. I look forward to hearing more as the year progresses.

Love you both!

The only games I can think of at the moment are Pictionary and Charades. I'll think of something else.

I think that Bunco and Yahtzee are fun with a lot of people, although I would break Yahtzee into two separate games if you have more than about four or five people. Bunco is great because it's really easy to learn and all you need is dice, so it's cheap to play even if you have to buy all the equipment. :)
