I have Labor Day off

This is so exciting. I get Labor Day off. This is the first one in 11 years. I'm going to a Demolition Derby at the Nebraska State Fair in Lincoln. It's in our mission so it's legal.
I will take lots of pictures. We are going with the McLanes. They are very excited because they have never been to one.
This week Bruce got started at the cemetary, repairing the stone walks and stairs. They are falling apart and so he is fixing them. We pound out the old mortar, and he and Jerry put new in. He now has sore knees and a sore back. But it sure is looking better. There is a Eagle Project in a week to help(?) with this project.
We laid sod in Council Bluffs at the Stake Center this week. They put in a new fence down one side. It took 2 days. While their I found bagworms on the pine tree. They are a slimy bug that takes the pine needles from the tree and makes a cocoon that looks like a pine cone. They wrap so tight around the end of the limb, they kill the tree. So we get to pick off what we can, and spray the tree. The fun thing was, we found them on the trees at our place. We looked about 3 weeks ago and couldn't see any. Now the one tree is almost dead in the front. Sad.
Our Temple is now closed for 2 weeks. This Saturday Bruce has the Eagle Project, and I have a Visiting Teaching conference to go to. So much for a free day. Thats what this is all about they tell me.
We had the missionaries over Thursday and we got a new one in our ward. Elder Strout got transferred to Grand Island in Iowa. He had been in our ward since we got here. He told us he was from a polyamist family. We thought he was kidding because he does that a lot. So we asked Elder Ozman, and I guess his dad has 2 wives. He is from St George. Nice kid. He has a step dad too, but I guess no real father figure. Interesting.
Well I sure did miss being home this week. I wanted to see Tylers 3 baptisms, and Cris' ordination. Next week I will miss being home for Alyssas wedding. Sorry I'm not there everyone. Please take lots of pictures for me. Love to everyone Sister Palmer
